How do I access my desktops from a tablet or smart phone?

You have a couple options for using Leostream on a tablet or smart phone:

1. Log into Leostream using the device's Web browser. Next, download the app for the display protocol you want to use. (Please note that if you want to launch a PCoIP connection, Teradici provides their own mobile app that you should use). To make a connection, the Web browser should download a file that the app will then launch. For example, if you have the Microsoft RDP app on an iPad, your Web browser downloads an .rdp file and the app opens and connects you to your desktop based on the parameters in that file.

2. The second option for accessing desktops from smart phones and tablets is to use the Leostream Gateway. With the Gateway, you can point the device's Web browser at your Broker address and, when you launch the connection, it opens in the Web browser using Leostream's HTML5 client. This approach requires more configuration because an administrator needs to install the Leostream Gateway, but it does mean that the user doesn't need additional apps on their desktop.

For more information about the Gateway, see our Leostream Gateway Guide
